I bought a cheap AX75 here in norway. It was sold as a AX72, but it is actually an AX75. But when I try to activate IrDA, it says "Interface conflict, IrDA temporarily unavaiable." maybe the provider (Telenor) have locked the phone's IrDA function so the phone will be the same as AX72? |

It writes that it´s just temporarily unavaiable. I think it can be blocked by old fw version. _________________ C(ME)75

Well, it obviously depends on what they really sold to you. Because these are not the same phones the main difference is in hardware: Siemens AX72 DOES NOT HAVE IrDA BUILT IN, and AX75 HAS IrDA! So if you bought AX72 it will NEVER work because of the hardware...

Is it written on phone, that it is AX75? If you have real AX75 instead of AX72, maybe it has only software block on IrDA. Maybe you should try to load AX75 software into it, WinSWUP version. _________________ ....S65-AX75-CX75-EL71-E71-SXG75-E71-S68-C81-M81 |

Or maybe it is so, that AX75 with damaged IrDA are sold as AX72 :-). Just like during stone age of home computers Sinclair used damaged 32k memory chips as 16k :-))) _________________ ....S65-AX75-CX75-EL71-E71-SXG75-E71-S68-C81-M81 |

I didn't have time to try updating with a new firmware until now, so I downloaded the official FW16 with LG2, updated the phone, and now IR works like a charm! So now I've got a really cheap AX75
Thanks for all answers and suggestions! One other thing... in www.mobile-review.com 's review, the menu looks different than my - is this something that has to do with a operator-customized firmware? In that case, maybe Telenor had disabled IR in the AX75 firmware of my phone. |
