Different keyboard layouts in new phones

Judging by the photos of the new Benq-Siemens phones, it looks that C81, EL71, EF81, S68 are with the old Siemens keyboard layout, while all the others are with the new, more Nokia-like keyboard layout: the space-key assigned to "0", plus-key assigned to "*" etc...
How this affects the UI (user interface)? What are the differences in the software of the new phones as compared to the 75 series of phones?
What about the Slim-Lumberg connector - is it changed or perhaps not?

It looks that they aren´t fully Siemens phones.

At the moment, BenQ-Siemens is lauching phones they had for 2006 roadmap, but now, rebranded as BenQ-Siemens.
C81, EL71, EF81, S68 are trully delepoded Siemens phones, while S88, E61, EF91, S81 and the others are trully BenQ developed phones, using benq OS, benq connector system, etc.
At the moment, no phone was presented like one official cooperation BQS phone, but I expect it very soon this year, or in worse way, beguining 2007.
From Siemens, the slim-lumberg connector was changed to the nano-lumberg, like C81, EL71, EF81
The current Siemens made BQS phones, (EF81, using brew like sxg75) EL71, C81, S68 are using the "FE75" platform, the one we have currently for Siemens S75\SL75, while the other CX75, M75, C75, ME75 are based on x65 platform, like we know.
