I've made about 7 x65 siemens accessories for now.
- Three 3.5mm audio converters
- Two USB DCA-540 data cables
- One Car charger
- One Aikon to Siemens charger adapter (u know Siemens phones & chargers are rare in Egypt)
One major obstacle when creating an accessory is the connector, I had to search for an old headset or data cable for just cutting its slim lumberg connector.
But I managed to create my own (Open source ) connectors from nothing.
So, I checked all cables & wires in my garage & found it . It's a cable like ones inside:
1- CD-ROM drives (I had two dead ones)
2- CD players (an old Sony Hi-Fi)
3- Inkjet printers (a dead Epson)
it's the only suitable type because the distance between its wires is the same as it's between those in the phone connector
like this one
=================================
for one slim lumberg, you need about 4CM long, 14-wire wide of this cable in average.
I could get about 3 Meters of this cable
Phone connector needs 12 wires, but you'll cut a 14-wire wide piece of this cable (the extra 2 wires are not to be connected, but for best fit into phone)
Then it's easy to (expose) the 12 wires at both ends
--------
Then find or make a (base) of plastic or rubber with diemensions fitting into the phone. Glue the cable over the plastic base.
That's all
My first DCA-540 (PC side directly connected to motherboard)

Hi man, I don't think that here in Central Europe would be a problem to get some Siemens connectors , but for those folks who are a bit "off the place", like you, this is really a -G-R-E-A-T- piece of advice. I wouldn't find out such thing as to use old CD cables as connectors... I take off my hat before you. Congrats
PS: If you like making accessories to your phone, you might try to make a LED lamp. I made it for myself, too, and its a great thing whien you need light. You just need a LED diode and a connector...
Regards and go on, you are REAL SiemensManiac _________________ Ičo

hi iko,
I'll make a white LED lamp. Now I have a spot of 2 Ir LEDs & it's great for night vision through the phone camera.
I made an IMS-700 3.5mm connector with-----> Karaoke effect (on/off)
just solder a switch to pin "9" then, switch on=normal voice, switch off=Karaoke

Nevies anglicky?
No a nepochval taku kreativitu.
Tomu hovorim SiemensManiactvo!  _________________ Ičo

My firt reaction was: "Jesus fucking Christ".
But, great solution if no other way.
Connectors are now available here for 1EUR.(No single conectors, but x55 HF). Maybe someone from here is going to Egypt this summer, and could take few for you. _________________ SX1 - Silver (15CZ+1GB PRETEC+ Mio v1.62 + 11,8MB C)

Even if connectors are available in Egypt, they will not sell too much here.
I make some 3.5mm adapters & DCA-540 for my friends
If someone is visiting Egypt, please give me some & I'll take you in a tour here |
