The first thing you need is usbdriver and, of course firmware 15.
All patches can be found here and here.

Make sure you carefully read all the patches before you apply them

Some of the patches require certain files to be put on Memory Card BEFORE you apply them. See the content of each patch to know what files should be put on disk C(phone memory) or E (MMC)

Fully load your battery to prevent any damage!!! Also, take out your Memory Card (MMC) and SIM card

Patches are applied via WinSwup Memory patcher

After you downloaded all these programs and all patches you want, switch off your fully loaded SX1 and attach it to DCA-540 cable (supplied with phone). While holding the joystick pressed switch the phone on. It should say 'Connect SX1 to PC and start update software' (or something similar).

Run firmware 15 on your computer. Do NOT press 'Start' yet. Click 'Serial config' and set 'USB 0' as shown on the picture.



Majority of the patches are applied to 'Core-Img (Z1)' but there are a few patches that need Z2 or ROLF, so read the patch carefully before applying.

The next step consist of launching WinSwup Memory Patcher. This application applies all the patches to the firmware in RAM of your computer before the actual upgrade takes place. That is why you need to run (not start) the software upade firmware 15.

Now, open your patche and click 'Apply' Wait, cause it may take up to 5 minutes to apply a patch. A message will appear to confirm that the patch has been applied. Repeat this with all your patches.

Now, RAM of your PC contains a modified firmware, which you apply to the phone by pressing 'Start' button. Wait until you see a message saying 'All done'.

Put back your MMC and SIM and start phone.

Well, I wouldn't really apply this particular patch, cause it will create a lot of free space in your memory, but on the other hand you will no longer be able to use the phone as a GSM device (no SMS, no calls, no internet)
The patch you're speaking about is useful for N-Gage games.

There are 2 different patch types for SX1. You apply them either via WSMP or Apacker. WSMP patches look like this
